The Denver/Boulder BBB Foundation would like your help! We are growing
“Sunflowers For Scholars,” which will help us fund the BBB Student of
Integrity Scholarship. This scholarship is given each year to deserving
high school seniors who are in need of financial aid to continue their
education in Colorado.
We strive to award $16,000 in scholarships each year. Please help us
continue to brighten the future of Colorado
students with your donation.
Your funding goes a
long way in helping our students. Like, Rhesa Melvin who was our
first recipient of the Student of Integrity Scholarship in 2006. Click
here to read her winning essay and learn more about her. She graduated from
Colorado State University
this year and is currently pursuing a job in radio and entertainment
television.
She was interviewed last year at the 2010 Torch Awards for
Marketplace Trust luncheon by Alice 105.9’s Slacker and KOSI 101.1’s
Murphy Huston about the impact receiving this scholarship has made on
her life.
Slacker: “Rhesa, how did it feel to be the very first recipient of
the BBB’s Student of Integrity Scholarship?”
Rhesa: “It was an amazing feeling for me
to be the first recipient. I knew it came with great expectations and a belief
in me to set a tone for the other students following so it was a challenge I
was wiling to take on. The BBB Was the first organization to actually believe
in me and give me a chance to attain my goals and attend college so I’m beyond
thankful for the opportunity.”
Murphy: “How did the scholarship affect
your experience at school?”
Rhesa: “It has defiantly given me a lot of
opportunities that I never would have dreamed I could have had. Also, over the
summer I moved to L.A.
to intern with Columbia Records so it really let me pursue my dreams in the
entertainment industry.”
Here is how
you can help: Purchase a petal for $5 or an entire sunflower for $25.
