Jake Jabs, owner of American
Furniture Warehouse, was honored as a Colorado
Business Hall of Fame Laureate Thursday evening. Mr. Jabs founded the Centennial Colorado-based
business in 1975, and currently serves as the company’s president and chief
executive officer. The company has been BBB
Accredited for the better part of a decade, and American Furniture
Warehouse’s customer service manager, Rob Naish, serves on the BBB’s Board of
Directors.
Mr. Jabs received this award for his dedication to community-based
philanthropy. He’s especially passionate
about causes relating to students, and the future of business in Colorado. In addition to a three-million dollar
donation to his alma matter, the proud Montana State alumnus has generously
donated to the BBB Foundation’s
Student of Integrity Scholarship over the past several years. ColoradoBiz Magazine states that American
Furniture Warehouse’s donations to local charities exceed two-million dollars
annually.
President and CEO of Junior Achievement Rocky Mountain, Robin
Wise, commented on the newly minted laureates, saying;
"The contributions of the Colorado Business Hall of Fame's six new
laureates provide excellent examples for all future businessmen and
women." As for Mr. Jabs, it appears
the octogenarian titan will continue to set his example from the frontlines of his
self-constructed furniture
empire; the same empire he has managed for the last
37 years. Regarding his future career
plans, Coloradobiz
Magazine states, “Jabs has no plans to retire. Running his privately held company keeps him
occupied and interested.”
The
BBB Foundation would like to offer its heartfelt thanks for the support
of Mr. Jab’s and American Furniture Warehouse.
You have helped the Foundation to improve the lives of Colorado
students; we wish you continued success in the future.
