Holiday sales continue to grow each year on average. Tell the BBB how you've been making it work in this slow economy. Also, let the BBB know what kind of snags you've run into during your holiday shopping. Do you think holiday shopping has become easier and more convenient, or has it become more chaotic and vulnerable to scams? Or both?

Puppy Scam
It seems that even trying to buy a family pet these days we leave ourselves open for humility. A recent story heard by the Denver/Boulder BBB left a family hoping for a puppy, and receiving nothing. A recent leak about “African E-Mail Scams” has said to lead people and families along with the promise of a good deal on a pure-bread puppy, and in return leaving them in a state of confusion and sadness. The email promises a chance to buy and receive a puppy via airplane for a flat rate. They ask you to wire the money and in return you will receive your puppy in a few days. All you receive is a feeling of deception and cruelty. Recently a Ft. Collins family has fallen victim to this cruel scam and told their story. The full story can be found on Fox 31’s website http://www.kdvr.com/videobeta/3985faa1-6357-4aba-b642-e9a413142b0d/News/Ft-Collins-family-deceived-by-online-puppy-scam
Your Denver/Boulder BBB has also put their heads together to come up with a few precautionary tips when found in a tricky situation such as this. Check them out at http://denver.app.bbb.org/tips?id=90123658&gid=100&gen=100&lid=1
Please feel free to comment on a recent story you’ve heard or on this one. We’re here to listen.
