BBB Announces 2011 Torch Award Finalists

Denver, CO – September 9, 2011 – Every year since 2003, the Better Business Bureau Serving Denver/Boulder has been recognizing ethical organizations in the community with its Torch Award for Marketplace Trust. Starting in 2009, the award has been presented to not just one business but to a small business, a large business and a nonprofit. This expansion continues into 2011 as the BBB announces the current finalists for the award in each category:

Small Business Category:

1. AMA Construction, Inc.

2. Jim Black Construction, Inc.

3. Life’s Sweet, Inc.

Large Business Category:

1. Champion Windows, Siding & Patio Rooms

2. Omni Financial Services

3. Two Men and a Truck, Inc.

Nonprofit Category:

1. Community Credit Counseling Services

2. Mile High United Way

3. Warren Village, Inc.

To compete, the organization must submit an extensive application that demonstrates their commitment to ethics and excellence in their approach to customers/donors, the community, their employees and their advertising and marketing methods. The finalists and winners are selected by a voluntary group of fellow business and nonprofit leaders.
